Spartan ships by soundwave3591 Spartan ships by soundwave3591
Some of the ships of the Spartan fleet.

Axilon -Class Cruiser: a central fleet ship of the Imperium, one most commonly seen around strongpoints and security depots.

Tador -class Fleet assault vessel: equipped with a powerful Ion Cannon, this vessel can destroy all electrical systems in an opposing fleet with one shot. the weapon, however, has a lengthy charge time, which can allow opponents to attack before the weapon is ready.

Cyclops-class Monitor: this ship, more of a weapon then a vessel, is a mobile artillery piece: one shot from its main weapon has been shown to pulverize even shielded vessels with ease.

Icarus-class Carrier: a Pure fighter carrier, this kilometers-long vessel serves to provide mobile air support in areas where larger vessels are impractical. Complement: 288 offensive craft, 72 support craft.

Solead -class battle carrier: a core fleet vessel designed primarily for fighter attack, it's compliment of 400 fighter ships and 250 bomber craft, with another 150 assault and reconnaissance vessels, this massive warship backs up it's "stingers" with a battery of massive turbolasers, each one large enough to hold a Nimitz-class carrier.

As these were used by the Spar, I take it they have a very long shelf life, as it were?

That's pretty cool really when you think about it; the histories each individual vessel must have...

quite so. some of the older vessels such as the Conquerors have been in use even longer than that.
